Measuring for Fit
To determine the Blackfin model you need, measure from the front of the prop to the tip of the gear housing. Take your horiziontal measurement and match it to the one of the three Blackfin sizes.The Mercruiser Alpha One when measured falls into the medium category; however it will require a Small Blackfin.

Blackfin Small
10.5" to 12.5"

Blackfin Medium
13.5" or 14.5"

Blackfin Large
15.5" and longer

Blackfin Skeg Warranty

Blackfin Skeg is designed to be a sacrificial unit in the event of impact to avoid damage to the lower unit and prop. If the Blackfin is sacrificed due to impact then the Blackfin has done it's job and one could only imagine the motor damage sustained without the Blackfin being installed. The Blackfin is warrantied against defects in workmanship for a period of 1 years after purchase. Regarding The Outdoors will repair or replace defective part upon return of defective unit. Warranty does not cover general wear.
